Project Servator
At Drake Circus and the Barcode, we’re proud to partner with Devon & Cornwall Police on Project Servator – ensuring the Centre remains a safe space for all.
What is Project Servator?
Project Servator aims to disrupt a range of criminal activity, including terrorism, while providing a reassuring presence for the public. Devon & Cornwall Police officers are experienced and specially trained to spot the tell-tale signs that someone is planning or preparing to commit an act of crime.
Together, we’ve got it covered
Devon and Cornwall Police work with partners, including other police forces, businesses and the public, to continue to protect our streets and everyone who lives, works or visits here and to make it difficult for criminals and terrorists to operate.
What you can expect to see
Devon & Cornwall Police officers will arrive unannounced at Drake Circus & The Barcode. These patrols are unpredictable which could last for different lengths of time and involve varying numbers of officers.
You’ll see, as a minimum, uniform and plain-clothes officers, but there might also be officers from other departments such as dog units or armed officers, depending on the specific requirements.
Officers will talk to our customers to let them know what they’re doing and remind them to be vigilant, trust their instincts and report any suspicious or unusual behaviour.
Project Servator’s patrols are highly visible, but if you see the officers in onsite at Drake Circus & The Barcode, there’s nothing to be concerned about. It’s normal police activity and isn’t linked to any specific intelligence about a threat to the area.
Working with the community is a vital part of making Project Servator a success, so if you have any questions, please feel free to talk to our officers.
What you can do
You have an important role to play in helping to keep our streets safe by reporting anything that doesn’t feel right, for example, an unattended item or someone acting suspiciously.
You’ll never get into trouble for reporting a genuine concern and we’ll always take your report seriously.
If you see something suspicious, please tell a police officer, use our online form to tell us about possible terrorist activity, or call the confidential Anti Terrorist Hotline on 0800 789 321. If it’s an emergency, always call 999.
