Everything you need in one place for an incredible family day out

1. See big new movies at Cineworld

2025 is full of amazing new releases Dogman (7th Feb) and Marvel’s Captain America: Brave New World. Cineworld offers a whole host of special discounts including unlimited films from £12.99 a month (with 25% off at Barcode restaurant Las Iguanas), family tickets, weekly Movies for Juniors for £2.50 a ticket, family special snacks with 30% off and dimmed-light Cinebabies screenings for parents and carers.

If you buy any products from Compare the Market, you can also enjoy Meerkat Movies for a whole year with 2-for-1 tickets every Tuesday and Wednesday.

 

 

2. The best places to eat with family menus and offers for kids

The Barcode is home to some of the most children-friendly places to eat on the planet with outdoor seating in the sunshine at Zizzi, Brewdog (where dogs are very welcome), Las Iguanas, Franco Manca, Five Guys and Nando’s.

Franco Manca has a 25% discount for Blue Light Card and Defence Discount Service card holders from Monday to Wednesday while their kids’ menu features seriously good pizza, a drink and ice-cream for £8.25.

YO! has a great kids’ menu for £7.50 (main, side and drink and £1.50 desserts) with puzzles and activities to do while you eat.

Las Iguanas  kids’ menu offers Wacky Tacos, chicken crunchies, two sides including curly fries and dessert for £7.25.

Brewdog kids’ menus feature £5.50 for cheese toasties and chicken strips with Hoppy Meals for £7.50 while Slim Chickens does Southern tenders, wings and shakes with a special £6.45 menu for kids.

Nando’s famous Nandinos meals have chicken strips, wings with side orders of corn on the cob and fries with either a juice or bottomless frozen yoghurt for £6.25 while Cosy Club offers all-day breakfasts, mac cheese, spaghetti and meatballs and pancakes from £5.95 on their kids’ menu.

 

And for afters…

Head to Kaspa’s Desserts ice-cream, waffles, cakes and sundaes with a kids’ menu for £5.95.

3. Book fun days out 

Spinners offers entertainment galore (under 18s are welcome until 6pm) with duckpin bowling and loaded nachos, buffalo wings, fries, pizza and churros for families (clayshot and interactive darts are available to over 16s if accompanied by a responsible adult).

Boom Battle Bar games, karaoke and food

Open to under-18s until 7pm, Boom Battle Bar is the ideal place for a fun day out of games, food and drink. 6. Easy parking and the best ways to get to Drake Circus and The Barcode by bus, train or bike

It’s super easy for families to get here. If you’re travelling by train, we’re just under 15 minutes’ walk from Plymouth train station and, if you prefer to drive, then we have more than 2,000 spaces at our car parks. There are designated children-and-parent and disabled spaces plus six electric charging points.

Cycling? Take advantage of our bike racks available on Cornwall Street outside the Marks & Spencer food court entrance or at Level -2 of The Barcode in the lift lobby.

 

7. Family-friendly essentials at Drake Circus and The Barcode

We have lots of baby-feeding friendly spaces in our cafes and restaurants and you can find baby-changing facilities inside the toilets on the Lower Mall and The Barcode. Also, please check with individual restaurants and cafes who may be able to offer bottle-warming facilities for you.
