Recognising the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower
Drake Circus has launched the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower, to support more than 10 million people living in the UK that have a hidden disability.
The scheme is designed to help ensure Drake Circus is accessible to all visitors by raising awareness of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower, which is used to discreetly indicate to people around the wearer that they may need additional support, help or a little more time.
If you’d like to find out more, or discuss our support further, please just get in touch on 01752 223 030.
We run a monthly sensory shopping event on the first Saturday of every month between 9 – 10am where lights are dimmed and music is turned off wherever possible.
We are registered with Changing Places, offering an accessible care room for customers who need it. This includes an adjustable height bench, peninsular toilet, hoist and adjustable wash facilities. Our care room can be found within the food court facilities on the first floor.
We have 51 designated disabled parking bays close to the centre across Drake Circus and The Barcode.
We have a number of Accessible toilets in the centre which can be found on the map.
- Two disabled toilets (no radar key required) on level 1 at the food court. These are both fitted with handrails.
- On the lower ground floor, customers will find two disabled toilets (no radar key required) both fitted with handrails.
- At the 24-hour walkway, we also have one disabled toilet (radar key required) fitted with handrails.
