Joules | National Picnic Week
Now here's something to pack in your picnic #NationalPicnicWeek Whenever we have a special occasion at the Joules office, Amber from the Product Team whips up these amazing Cheesy Marmite Sausage Rolls - and to say we've been missing them is an understatement! The only way around this was for Amber to share her recipe with us, and we decided to share it with you too! ingredients 1 x 375g box of ready rolled puff pastry 3 tbsp Marmite, plus an extra little drizzle for the egg wash 85g extra mature cheddar, grated 400g sausage meat (or meat-free alternative) 1 egg, beaten Method 1. Preheat your oven to 200℃ (fan 180℃). 2. Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface to 30cm x 21cm. 3. Drizzle 1 ½ tbsp of the Marmite and 1/3 of the grated cheese over the pastry. 4. In a mixing bowl, combine the sausage meat with the remaining Marmite and cheese. 5. Slice your pastry in half lengthways and divide your sausage meat mix into two – one half for each pastry rectangle. 6. Brush the top of the sausage meat and one of the long edges of the pastry rectangle with the beaten egg before rolling the pastry over to encase the sausage meat. 7. Press the edges of the pastry gently with a fork to seal them together tightly. 8. Using a sharp knife, cut your desired length of sausage rolls, score them, brush them with egg wash and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper. 9. Bake for 30 minutes until the pastry is deep golden in colour. #joules #recipe #homemade #picnicrecipe
