Exciting new soft play area to open at Drake Circus
Wild Things Play Project is designed to provide children and families with an innovative and inclusive indoor play experience – and it’s opening in Drake Circus this December!
With over 5000 ft2 of play space designed specifically for children aged 0 – 7 years old, the new site will offer immersive indoor play areas with all-natural materials to recreate the feel of outdoor play that allows kids’ imaginations to run wild.
Featuring a wide range of play structures and natural elements that encourage children to explore, discover and learn through play, from climbing frames and interactive features to sand play and sensory spaces, the new play site will offer something for every young child, regardless of ability. This includes a toddler-specific area with a range of play equipment selected to encourage fine motor skill development, language and communication, physical and cognitive development, problem solving and understanding of the world.
Greg Lumley, centre director at Drake Circus, said: “We’re really looking forward to Wild Things Play Project joining the centre later this year offering children across Plymouth a new space to explore and have fun with friends and family. The opening will be a great addition to the existing child-friendly leisure facilities already available at Drake Circus and we look forward to welcoming families for a fun day out.”
Even better, it’s a cafe too! Offering children’s favourites including freshly made pizza and pastas, jacket potatoes with a range of fillings and a full range of sandwiches, baguettes and paninis. They’ll have something for the grown-ups too, with a range of Nourish Bowls and salads, and of course the kid’s favourites will come in adult portions too. As well as the lunch and tea menu, they’ll be offering a range of breakfast sandwiches and muffins each morning to get the day started in style.
“We are incredibly excited to open our new play site in Plymouth,” said Oliver Stroud, founder of Wild Things Play Project. “Our mission is to create spaces where every child feels welcome, safe and inspired to play. We believe that this new site will become a cherished destination for families in the community.”
