To mark the start of a summer and welcome shoppers, Drake Circus has added a splash of colour with a wildflower canopy suspended above their Old Town Street entrance.
The canopy is made from 22 giant, colourful blooms and 15 giant blades of grass. Designed by the team at TR2 Plymouth – the canopy provides the perfect photo opportunity and brightens up shoppers’ days.
Greg Lumley, Centre Director at Drake Circus, said:
“After a difficult year for so many people we’re looking forward to seeing customers again as well as welcoming tourists to Plymouth this summer.By bringing the joys of the great outdoors into the centre, we hope our colourful scheme will bring a smile to all our visitors, and provide a great opportunity for a selfie or two!”
The installation ties in with the wider floral scheme throughout the city, launched by Plymouth City Centre company in June, with giant flowers strung across Cornwall Street, Armada Way and New George Street.
The giant blooms provide the perfect backdrop for a summer of activity in Plymouth this year, including The Hatchling and the British Firework Championships, find out more at visitplymouth.co.uk.
Shoppers can admire the display at the Drake Circus throughout the summer until September.
