DRAKE CIRCUS IN FINAL FOR EUROPEAN MARKETING AWARD

The "Drake Circus - We've Got It Covered" advertising campaign that ran over the Christmas and New Year period has reached the final of the European 2009 International Council of Shopping Centres (ISCS) SOLAL Marketing Awards.

It is the only shopping centre in the South West to have reached the finals and will compete against shopping centres in Denmark, Slovenia, Portugal, Poland and Italy.

The advertising campaign focused on the total Drake Circus shopping experience - the wide range of shops, services and eateries - and the fact that the whole centre is under cover. 

The success of the campaign has been measured in increased footfall and a rise in the number of visitors from outside the Drake Circus primary area of Plymouth and its locale. The mall was visited by over 18 million people last year, more than in any previous year and in excess of the number of people who visited Cribbs Causeway just outside Bristol in the same period.

Drake Circus will discover if it has won this prestigious award at the ISCS European Marketing Conference in Vienna on 18 June.

Three local creative and media agencies were involved in the "Drake Circus - We've Got It Covered" campaign. These included Chalk & Ward (creative), Mostly Media (media buying) and The PR Works Limited (PR support).
